Arched Doors
These arched doors were designed to fit into an existing space on an extension built onto a Victorian town house in Ashton, Preton. Their installation had a marked effect on retaining the heat within the room as well as providing a distinctive feature for the interior.
The construction was redwood (pine) thoughout using traditional methods of jointing and panelling. Toughened safety glass was used to conform with building regualtions. The most difficult aspect of the work was building the frame which was made up of three laminations for strength across the radius of the arch.
The clients were very pleased with the result and commissioned further restoration work.
